The Ice Is Melting...

The ice is finally melting folks, not only literally but metaphorically. The USDA has released $20 million in frozen farm funds. Folks, Biden made it hard for American farmers last term.  When he started the IRA (Inflation Reduction Act), Biden froze funding to farmers in order to give people a rebate to cover their homes to "green energy".  Because of his environmental beliefs, Biden took money contracted to farmers and gave it to a bunch of liberals. These farmers were trying to grow his food. He had no respect for them. Not even enough respect to give what he owed. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins says:

“American farmers and ranchers are the backbone of our nation. They feed, fuel, and clothe our nation—and millions of people around the world. The past four years have been among the most difficult for American Agriculture, due in no small measure to Biden’s disastrous policies of over-regulation, extreme environmental programs, and crippling inflation. Unfortunately, the Biden administration rushed out hundreds of millions of dollars of IRA funding that was supposed to be distributed over eight years. After careful review, it is clear that some of this funding went to programs that had nothing to do with agriculture—that is why we are still reviewing—whereas other funding was directed to farmers and ranchers who have since made investments in these programs. We will honor our commitments to American farmers and ranchers, and we will ensure they have the support they need to be the most competitive in the world.”

Folks, I don't believe in government funding. We're in enough debt as it is. But this blatant disrespect bothers me. When did farming become unimportant? When did we not need to eat? Farming is the most important occupation that there ever was. Not to mention the most dangerous. Without food we'd all be dead. And Biden-Harris thought they could just ignore our farmers. 

But now, it seems, we're taking a turn for the better. Secretary Rollins is doing a good job, folks. Did any of you look at the USDA home page last year? Their main focus: "Racial Equality", first on the list. Then it said something about the "Green New Deal" What does that have to do with agriculture? Biden really had everything mixed up. And I could tell that site was not designed by somebody who knew anything about agriculture. Pretty flowers on the home page. Really? Is that what they think American farmers do all day? Water flowers? Enough is enough.

Now, the home page has a photo of somebody herding cattle. Across the top it says "We are here for you". Their main goals are: "Resources and support for food, agriculture, natural resources, rural development, nutrition, and related issues." It says "We are the USDA". Folks, you might think that sounds redundant on the USDA website. But Biden did not have a USDA. We got a real team going now. Tell me, how could anyone be a democrat?
