USDA Inspection
I've said this before: NEVER trust the US Department of Aggravation to make your food choices for you. They are NOT trustworthy. Not even when Trump is president. Definitely not when a democrat is in office. Don't let them make your decisions.
"Safety Inspection", to the uninformed, sounds great. Somebody is quality checking these products to be sure they are safe for consumption. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Ironically, "Safety Inspections" have little do with safety. They are more about controlling people and weeding out small scale farmers.
You see, the USDA and FDA really dislike small scale producers. The reason is that no matter what they do they cannot get us to support the LDC (legal drug cartel, or pharmaceutical companies). The LDC is behind the scenes in almost everything that goes on in this country. They control agriculture, because they have products that farmers are legally bound to using. They control the media (you've noticed all the TV commercials are for pharmaceutical products). They have a lot of power in our country. And they don't like us. Therefore, the USDA and FDA don't like us. And they will do all they can to shut us all down, even if our production practices are perfectly safe.
Think I'm joking? Well, I'm not. Here's an example. We were at a conference in Pryor, Oklahoma recently. Joel Salatin was a speaker there, among others. All the speakers were discussing inspection laws together when a lady stands up and calls for the microphone. Then she says, into the microphone, "Don't shoot the messenger. I work for the FDA." Everyone gasps and mutters some expletive or another. She went on "I'm from California and my political status is blue, so I'm a little different breed than all of you". Talk about an understatement. She's on the opposite side of the spectrum. More gasps and expletives. I was surprised she had the guts to stand there and say that in front of a bunch of confederate rednecks. Fortunately, there was no lynching and she went on to say that she once spent two years tracking down somebody who had been operating a small home canner without inspection. She told that story to make a point that was easy to see. She wanted us to know that the FDA will not stand down till all of us are put away.
Inspection is not about safety. They don't care how much poop soaks into the meat in the chilling tank. They don't care about the harmful bacteria (they don't even measure that). All they check is temperature. They come into a chicken processing plant with their fancy thermometers and start measuring the temperature of everything. They go to the liver section and measure the temperature. They don't mind the gall bladder juices that the livers are swimming in, it just needs to be cooled to the proper temp in the proper time. I'm not joking. They are not concerned with safety. They just want to shut down the do it yourselfers.
If this were really a safety problem as they say it is, why do they allow somebody to feed his child homegrown meat or raw milk? Why don't they take the poor child and put it in foster care, where it won't be fed poison? Isn't that what they would do if a father was giving his child moonshine, which actually would be a problem of safety?
Also, where is the consumer's freedom of food choice? Why can't you legally buy your neighbor's product if you want to? Doesn't this aggravate you? Again, the LDC is taking over our nation. Don't let them choose what you eat. When did responsibility of one's actions switch from an individual responsibility to a government responsibility? I refuse to believe that consumers are not as smart as the USDA and FDA inspectors. I think, in fact, that consumers have a better idea of what they want to eat than the inspectors do.
Don't just take my word for it. I encourage you to do your own research and come to your own conclusion on the matter. Joel Salatin's book "Everything I Want To Do Is Illegal" has some great examples. It's full of stories of the food police trying to shut him down.
Why, why on earth did meddling Lincoln ever start the USDA? He called it "The People's Department". I don't know if it was always this controlling or not. I assume it was not so bad originally. "The People's Department" sounds pretty good. But this was not meant to be a form of government. When he made "The People's Department", he was taking power from the people, not giving it to them. What a deceiving name. Dishonest Abe. I think it should really be the people's department. Not just as a name.
What do you think?
